The game in photos:Shorewood vs Shorecrest girls' varsity soccer September 25

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Following are Wilson Tsoi's photos and comments from the action-packed, dramatic Shorewood vs Shorecrest girls' varsity soccer games on Saturday, September 25.

The drama started with the Junior Varsity game. The highest scoring player on the team, Corinna Smith scored a goal, as did Allison Ezeonwu. Before the game was over, Corinna was taken away in an ambulance. Shorecrest still won, 2-0, and reports are that Corinna is all right.

The varsity game was even more physical, and suspenseful, as reported by Wilson Tsoi in a previous story.

As one sports fan remarked, "The crosstown rivalry was more intense for girls soccer than it seemed at the football game the night before."

Off a free kick from Scots junior Nicole Harris (#12,) Shorecrest second goal soars over Shorewood junior GK Karlie Leclair. With 10 players after 15' mark on, Shorecrest managed to pull off a victory over archrival Shorewood 2-0 with a goal at 77' mark and in extra time.
