Police action in Meridian Park neighborhood on Saturday, September 18

We received this report from a SAN reader:

There were a large number of King County Sheriff, City Police and Emergency medical vehicles on my street today (Saturday, September 18) - 171st/Ashworth. Also numerous SWAT team members. The bordering streets were blocked off to incoming traffic for several hours.

According to Sgt. John Urquhart of the Sheriff's office, King County Patrol officers went to the 1300 block of N 169 to arrest a 42 year-old man for a domestic violence assault.

He would not come out and has been armed in the past so we got a warrant to go in and get him. However he surrendered before we went in. The incident started at 10:40 am and ended well at 1:00 pm. Nobody hurt.
