Fall schedule for Write On Calligraphers

Write On Calligraphers is an Edmonds-based non-profit organization serving Pacific Northwest calligraphers and paper arts enthusiasts for more than thirty years.

General Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of January, March, May, September and November in Edmonds, Washington. Meetings are open to the public and free of charge. Times and locations of up-coming meetings, lectures, and workshops follow.

Meeting: Tuesday, September 14 at 7 pm

Speakers:    Kathy Barker and Gayle Waddle-Wilkes

Topic:         WOC members recount their experiences at the summer conferences.

Waddle-Wilkes explored copperplate with Mike Kesceg at ABC 2010 in Red Deer, Alberta and Barker focused on flowers and flourishes with Pat Blair and Victoria Pittman at Odyssey International Conference in Boston.

Workshop: Saturday and Sunday, October 16-17 from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Subject:      Drawing for Calligraphers You CAN draw! Add drawings or illustrations to your calligraphy. Through a series of demonstrations and exercises designed with calligraphers in mind, gain confidence in your drawing ability and improve your calligraphy at the same time,

• Beginner Copperplate: 6-session series, Tuesdays 7-9 pm, 9/21–11/2
• Continuing Copperplate: 6-session series, Tuesdays 10 am-12 pm, 9/21–11/2
• A Bowlful of Calligraphy: 6-session series, Mondays 10 am-12 pm, 9/20–10/25
