Democrat Cindy Ryu and Republican Art Coday appear headed for a November faceoff for the 32nd Legislative District House seat that Democrat Maralyn Chase is vacating to run for the State Senate.

Ryu, a former Shoreline councilwoman and mayor, led the final Tuesday night vote count with 41.3 percent of the vote to 38.5 percent for Coday, her likely November opponent, and 20.2 percent for Doris Fujioka McConnell, a current Shoreline councilwoman.

The numbers reflect King County votes received by Monday morning and Snohomish County votes received by Monday afternoon. The King County vote came from a countywide turnout of 22.8 percent, compared to the projected 45 percent. King County votes in the 32nd District include those from Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore and the Finn Hill area near Kirkland.

Snohomish County results include ballots received as of Monday evening. Countywide turnout as of Tuesday was 23 percent, compared to a projected 41 percent. Snohomish County results include ballots from Woodway, south Edmonds and unincorporated Esperance.

King County plans to update its vote count at 4:30 pm Wednesday, Snohomish County at 5 pm Wednesday.
