Retiring 32nd District Democratic State Sen. Darlene Fairley has endorsed Democrat Doris Fujioka McConnell for the open State representative seat in the District.
McConnell, a Shoreline city councilwoman, is running against Democrat Cindy Ryu and Republican Art Coday for the position that Democratic State Rep. Maralyn Chase is vacating to run for the State Senate seat that Fairley is giving up.
Codey, McConnell and Ryu will run in the August primary, with the top two vote getters advancing to the November general-election ballot.
Fairley said last week that McConnell is the best choice for the position because of her close ties to the community and past willingness to listen to people.
Meanwhile, Democratic State Rep. Ruth Kagi said last week that she had not endorsed a candidate in the Codey-McConnell-Ryu contest.
Kagi is running for re-election against Republican Gary Gagliardi of Shoreline, and Stan Lippmann, a Lake Forest Park Republican precinct committee officer who is running with a Democratic Party preference.
Chase is running for the Senate against Republican David Baker and Democrat Patty Butler.

Shortly after this article appeared, someone posted a comment. While I didn't agree with the content, neither did I find it particularly offensive or think it was a personal attack on an individual. I see now that you have deleted that comment.
If you have a policy for which comments you allow and which you delete, it would be a benefit to your readers to post that policy somewhere on the site. If, on the other hand, you are going to simply delete any comments you don't like or disagree with your personal or political beliefs, then you should stop pretending this is a 'News' site that adheres to anything resembling journalistic integrity.
Hi Corey - I'm the only one who removes comments and we did not see the one you are referring to. I did remove comments on a different, non-political story, so I can tell you that it leaves a new message, something to the effect of "this comment has been removed by editorial action."
Our policy on comments shows on each Comment page and says:
"We encourage the thoughtful sharing of information and ideas. We expect comments to be civil and respectful, with no personal attacks or offensive language. We reserve the right to delete any comment."
Evan's columns are often circulated - could you have seen it elsewhere?
Thank you for your concern. The SAN serves the whole community.

I've discovered the source of my confusion. The comment I thought was posted to this article was actually posted on the Facebook post for this article.
My apologies for the confusion and thank you for your quick response.
