Nick Brazell, Jen Danner, and Neil Gupta were honored for writing the Shorewood student store operations manual and receiving a gold level status for the store; they presented its marketing and operational practices and how the store tries to provide healthy options. There were approximately 100 teams participating in their event.

The Shorewood students wrote a 40-page store operations manual that met certain operational requirements. As a store, the students had to show competencies in employee training, management policies, inventory management, healthy options, cash handling procedures and accounting practices. With its gold ranking, the Shorewood team was invited to present its best practices and the top 16 teams received awards.
