The Shorewood baseball team stayed alive in the Northwest District 4A baseball tournament Monday with a 9-8 victory over Lake Stevens at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The game was tied 6-6 after the regulation seven innings, but Shorewood scored three runs in the top of the eighth, and Lake Stevens responded with only two.
Shorewood advances to play the loser of a Tuesday semi-final game between Mountlake Terrace and Marysville-Pilchuck. Another win would put the Thunderbirds into a game for the District’s third spot in the State 4A tournament.
Connor McKeever led Shorewood (14-9 overall) batting 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Trevor Mitsui (2-for-3) and Robbie Rusch (3-for-4) added doubles for Shorewood.
