The Shorecrest boys’ soccer team will host a State quarterfinal game Saturday against Camas after beating Yelm 4-3 Tuesday.
The undefeated, nationally-ranked and defending state 3A champion Scots defeated Yelm 4-3 in the last minute Tuesday night to win its first round game in the State 3A tournament. It was the 39th consecutive victory over two seasons for Shorecrest (20-0-0).
Sophomore Brennan Millea capped a Shorecrest comeback from a 3-1 deficit, scoring the winning goal with two seconds remaining in the game. Glenn Paden scored his second goal of the game in the 59th minute off a Michael Harris assist to get the Scots within one. Freshman Morgan West score in the 68th minute off a Hiei Rose assist to tie the score.
The Scots will play Camas at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Stadium.
The winner moves to the State semifinals and finals at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood, May 28-29.
