The SCC Softball Team swept Skagit Valley on Saturday at Shoreview Park, defeating the Cardinals 8-0 in the first game and 12-5 in the second.
Kim Kocik threw a shutout in the first game, as after a sluggish start on the offense, the Dolphins came alive to end the game in 6 innings on Camille Depew's homerun in the bottom of the sixth.
In the second game, SCC bats came alive with 15 hits and Erik Potts hit a homerun to lead SCC to victory.
SCC is 23-9 overall, 18-2 in the region. The Dolphins have a 3 game lead on second place Bellevue with 4 games to go. SCC finishing the season with Everett CC and Peninsula College on the road. If SCC sweeps Peninsula on Tuesday, they will be the Northern Region Champions, their first championship since 2003. They travel to the NWAACC Championship on May 21-24 in Portland, Oregon.
