The 32nd Legislative District Democratic Committee voted Wednesday to support State Rep. Maralyn Chase for the State Senate seat that Darlene Fairley is vacating and to back former Shoreline Councilwoman Cindy Ryu for Chase’s seat.
The District Democrats had previously nominated Rep. Ruth Kagi for re-election.
A news release from the District Democratic organization said that Chase was unopposed. It said nothing about opposition to Ryu, but it said that Shoreline Councilwoman Doris McConnell had told the group that she is weighing options about running for State representative.
“As of right now, I have not made a final decision,” McConnell told the group. “I look forward to coming before your body for an endorsement, if I choose to run, at some future date.”
