Shorewood boys fall short in District basketball tournament

The Shorewood High School boys’ basketball team finished its season two games short of qualifying for the State 4A tournament when the Thunderbirds lost to Cascade 61-49 in the Northwest District tournament, Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Jackson High School in Mill Creek.
Two days later, Cascade lost to Jackson for the District’s third berth in the State tournament.
Shorewood’s loss to Cascade left the T-birds with a 9-14 overall record.
Cascade broke the game open in the third quarter, when they outscored Shorewood 24-9.
Jerry Smallwood led Shorewood with 11 points.
