Thanks to an observant citizen in the Richmond Beach neighborhood two prolific commercial burglars have been arrested.
He immediately called 911. He was on the phone with 911 when he saw them return to the car “carrying something” in their hands.
The witness was able to provide a good vehicle description. Sgt. Klein saw the car and pulled it over in the area of Top Foods. Just prior to Sgt. Klein’s stop we received an alarm call at the Sea Shore mini mart. Officers discovered that the business had been burglarized.
Officer Sweeney obtained a full confession from one of the suspects. He confessed to two Shoreline commercial burglaries and then drove Officer Sweeney to approximately 20 additional locations in Seattle that he/partner had burglarized over the course of the past several months.
Detective Inn served a search warrant on the suspect’s car and recovered additional evidence linking the suspects to a number of commercial burglaries described above.
In addition to the Shoreline burglaries the Seattle Police Department will be able to charge these suspects with the many more commercial burglaries in their city.

ReplyDeleteHey what about a thanks to the citizen who called the police. "Hello" we all need to be more attentive to our surroundings in order to assist the police. Sounds like the police wouldnt have caught the guys w/out the call.
ReplyDeleteRight you are - and in a world with increasingly more cameras and video, citizen participation in law enforcement becomes even more a factor.
ReplyDeleteSpend more time on the real criminals out there doing thefts and robberies like these two instead of shorelines top priority: the graffiti artists.
