This is the last weekend that Eurydice will be performed at Shoreline Community College. In Greek mythology, this was the story of Orpheus and his treacherous journey to bring his doomed bride Eurydice back from the underworld. On the SCC stage, it is award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl’s poignant modern take on the myth, told from Eurydice’s point of view, and framed by the most ambitious set ever built at Shoreline Community College. The decayed amusement park is complete with a river of forgetfulness, a chorus of stones, and a working roller coaster that shuttles characters between the land of the living and the land of the dead.
The performance is at 2 pm on November 22.
