Don Haggerty - Painting
Judith Heim - Collage
January 8 – February 23, 2013

The Gallery at Town Center features rich collages by Judith Heim and fun figurative paintings by Don Haggerty this month. Brighten up the darkening days by stepping in to see the work by these talented artists. The Gallery is located on the inside lower level of the Lake Forest Park Town Center, 17171 Bothell Way NE, Lake Forest Park, WA 98155. Hours are 12-5pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Don Haggerty
Don Haggerty is a figurative painter and sculptor, working from subjects he feels passionate about. The passion may be sparked by a single compositional element, or perhaps a gesture, or the dancing line of a twisted torso. He thinks of such inspirations as “gifts”. Each is a magical spark that ignites an entire work. With all its subtleties of gesture, variations of expression, drapery, light, shadow and mood, he has always felt figurative work to be the perfect context for inviting magic to happen.

Judith Heim

Spontaneity is very important to Judith Heim visually. Most of her paintings are not premeditated. They start out as amorphous shapes of wet color. As she sees subject matter emerge, she delineates it. Most of her imagery is influenced by the unseen world, dream imagery, and natural forms. She likes to create visual metaphors and sees it as a celebration of the journey.

The Gallery also features an array of handmade work by over 80 local artists. Information on the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council. The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to nurture all of the arts in the community through programs and events, arts education, advocacy, and support for artists and arts organizations.
