SCC is 11-4 overall and is lead by the 2010 MVP of the Northern Region, sophomore Lisa Day from Ballard High School. Day had 13 kills in the team’s victory on Friday night against Everett Community College. The team is sophomore heavy with setter Christine Jenson from Mountlake Terrance High School providing experience in running the offense attack, Laura Postor from Shorewood High School roaming the back line in her libero position (defensive specialist) and sophomores Kelly Klebeck (Blanchet High School) and Amanda Arnoux (Nathan Hale High School) provide offense support for Day from the outside hitting positions and Hannah Stoeve from Shorewood High School maintains the middle blocker position.

Three freshmen round out the squad, Jasmyn Ray from Ingraham High School, Haruka Murakami, an international student from Japan who walked on the team and Hailey Stuart, a women’s basketball player who joined the team recently and is from Vancouver, BC.

SCC was co-champions of the region in 2010 as they were tied with Whatcom Community College with 10-2 records in the division. SCC dropped the final match of the season at Whatcom to fall into the tie. SCC defeated Whatcom last week in Bellingham 3-0. SCC has won 6 streak matches by 3-0 scores.

Game time is 7:00 pm on Wednesday night in the SCC Gym. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for non-SCC students, Seniors, SCC Faculty and Staff and active Military personnel. SCC students and children 5 and under are free.
