Shoreline man still missing. Have you seen Tom?

Monday, January 10, 2011

Tom Anderson is still missing. He wandered away from his Shoreline home on December 27 and has not returned. He is mildly developmentally disabled but is competent at taking Metro buses, so he could be anywhere.

Brenda Burns, Program Supervisor for Ambitions, which runs a series of homes in the Puget Sound area, detailed the steps they are taking to try to locate Tom.

"We are in daily contact with law enforcement which has placed Tom on their web site for missing people. Tom's information has been on TV news stations and in the Seattle Times. We send people throughout the day and evening checking areas that Tom has a history of going when he elopes - Capitol Hill and the Seattle waterfront, Tom knows the Metro system and may use Metro to move around town.

"We have made regular contact and left flyers with the local Homeless shelters, Churches, Tent Cities and any Agency or groups that help with the homeless. We are going to all the known places at the time that meals are served and check the shelters at night when they open (between 8pm and 9:30pm)in hopes that Tom may be seeking shelter for the night.

"We have sent Tom's flyer to other residential agencies in the area, they are keeping a look out for Tom when out in the community. Flyers were sent to Metro and to all local hospital emergency room and any business that will allow us to hang the flyers. Thank you for all your assistance."

If you see him, call 911 or the numbers on the flyer.
